A little about us

Belot Trademark Services' Intellectual Property Law team has developed valuable expertise for its clients which helps them maintain the necessary competitive edge in both the Canadian and the international markets. Our team combines the experience and the talent of professionals from major Canadian law firms with the personalized relationship offered by smaller firms and this provides quick trademark services at competitive rates.

Our founder, Jessie Belot LL.L., is a registered trademark agent* duly certified by the Canadian Intellectual Property Office. She has been working extensively in the intellectual property field, with a particular focus on trademarks. She holds a law degree from the University of Ottawa and has gained valuable insight and hands-on strategies about acquiring, managing and protecting trademarks from the McGill University Understanding Trademarks and Managing Trademarks intensive programs.

Prior to establishing an intellectual property practice, she worked for a leading telecommunications company and for Heenan Blaikie LLP and Davis Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP, two prominent law firms, where she trained and practiced in the area of trademark prosecution for Canadian and international clients.

She has developed a valuable experience in the registration, protection and enforcement of trademarks, copyrights and domain names and to date has assisted clients on a number of complex matters involving well known entities in a variety of areas: high technology; biotechnology; healthcare; arts and entertainment; telecommunications; retail business; finance; manufacturing companies; food industry; wellness and beauty; emerging companies; small businesses, and many individuals.

*To be authorized to represent clients before the Canadian Intellectual Property Office, trademark agents are required to work for a period of at least two years under the guidance of a registered trademark agent, and also to complete successfully the rigorous examination conducted jointly by the Canadian Intellectual Property Office and the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada.
